Filmmaker * Writer * Artist

Hi - I'm Keith Braman, a writer and independent filmmaker living near Asheville, NC.  I attended a 2-year college on a baseball scholarship, then made the roster as a starting pitcher of a university team as a walk-on. I was invited to join Phi Beta Kappa my junior year of college.

In 2006, I launched my film company, Blue Volcano Productions.

Artist in a Car, an account of my year and a half stint painting and observing life from inside my old Mercedes, which includes tales from my paintings and recollections from my cranial archives was released in July, 2017.

My first work of fiction, entitled, The Bartow Abductions, was released in July 2015.  I've also penned over 50 short stories, and one how-to book, entitled Pixels & Pizza, based on my first experience making an independent movie. I have written a dozen feature-length screenplays.  I optioned and/or sold short stories from a website I started in the early 2000's called FreeShortStories.com, now owned and operated by someone else.

I have also written, directed, and edited three feature-length independent movies, the first, House of Poets, a drama that has a reality show feel and mostly improvised within the guidelines of a blueprint, and The Purple Box, a psychological drama. When directing, I pull out the best performance in every actor and do so in an easy, low-key fashion that instills confidence in everyone on the set. SInce my conversion to Christianity, I have written a Christian script that I hope to produce in the near future. I would love to help other filmmakers bring to life their story to the screen. I am available as a director, script supervisor, on set consultant and any other degree of assistence that a filmamker needs to accomplish this goal.

In 2001 I optioned 3 of my short stories to an independent film producer. I co-wrote a screenplay from one of those stories for a short film that premiered at the Sedona International Film Festival and was viewed at the New York City Home Film Festival.

Along with film courses in college I traveled to New York for some film classes to brush up on the business of filmmaking.

Thank you for visiting.
